Polesworth Carnival 2009

Polesworth Carnival was held on the first Saturday in July.  As usual the Church had a stall on the Carnival field and this year we took the theme of "Fishing for Men".   There was a large "sea of men" who were fished out by the children.   After writing their own name on the man they placed him on the path following Jesus.  As a reward all those who took part were given a homemade cake or biscuit decorated with a fish theme.

While the children, and some adults, were taking part church members spoke to parents and others about the church.   Welcome folders were handed out and in particular leaflets promoting our Companies of The Boys' and Girls' Brigade were also distributed.  Almost 400 cakes and biscuits were given away during the afternoon.   All of our original 350 men were fished from the sea and a small work party had to set about making more before the end of the day.
